The menu is not extensive and there was no overall 'theme' but the food we had was pretty good. They recommended a great wine and the waitress was excellent - both friendly and helpful.
We booked at the last minute and were glad we did. Not a fine dining experience if that is what you want but a comfortable experience. We split a salad and the entree portions were a good size. My husband had a Thai noodle type dish and he really enjoyed it. I had the prime rib which came as I requested. We didn't have dessert but marvelled at a couple of plates that went by.

I highly recommend Rene's for anyone who enjoys fine dining but doesn't want to experience "sticker shock" when the cheque arrives.
While I enjoy fine food, I don't tend to enjoy "upscale" restaurants. The staff are usually haughty, the portions wouldn't satisfy a hummingbird, and I'm supposed to be impressed just because they artistically drizzled some raspberry sauce along the side of the plate.
Rene's Bistro was a very pleasant surprise! While the menu choices were creative and the food delicious, the atmosphere was bustling and friendly. If felt more like a neighborhood cafe, and there were obviously both a lot of locals and tourists there.
Best of all: no sticker shock.

Excellent fish and chips dinner! I had halibut and chips with tartar sauce, creamy coleslaw and pasta salad on the side. The servings were very generous. My piece of fish was huge and I had lots of tartar sauce to go with it. I didn't run out. I love the fries. They are just like the ones that my mom used to make. Both the coleslaw and the pasta salad are delicious. Also ... the delivery person was very friendly and polite! I would recommend Annie's to everyone! ?❤

I brought in a tour group of 33 people and the manager Jodi and her staff were waiting for us when we arrived. They provided great service and the food was very good. The group all voted they would go back again! Thank you so much! Our travel date was on 9/24/11 and arrived around 6:15pm for dinner. It was also nice being a family restaurant you could order wine, beer etc. One of the ladies in our group was having a birthday and the staff provided a slice of choc. cake and sang Happy B-day!

People are very friendly, helpful and honest. My husband inadvertently dropped a $20 bill and two weeks later upon our return he had the money returned which he hadn't really missed. I find myself at this place multiple times during the week. I go for breakfast one day, lunch the next, and then for dinner another day, and I'm usually there for the nights events. They have great concerts, great food, the staff, at least the bartenders and bouncers are all fantastic and some of my good friends, and the service is more often than not fast and helpful. Just the other day after going to this place for a year and a half, had my first bad experience with service, but after mentioning it to the manager, everything got sorted out and I still had an excellent meal even though it was a bit slower than usual.
And their drinks are fantastic. I've only had one bad drink there and that was after they just started a new barrel so the beer was a bit watery - I just asked for a new one and they gave it to me no problem.
I can't say enough good things about this place. I never turn down an invite to this place.

Went here with friends. They been here before My wife and I had not. Our server ask if we been before and then helped us on some questions we had about the menu. Dave was very helpful with our decisions. He did not rush us and was very patient. Our english is not great but he was able to understand and help us with deciding. The wrap and roll platter was a great taste of different items and coconut shrimp was very good. We order many different dishes to try and share. Dave mentioned they were big portions and he was right. We had lots of leftovers for next day. The decor was very nice and relaxing. not very busy though. Look forward to coming back and enjoying another nice evening wih great food and service.
