I recently decided to go to Pubwells Restaurant after being recommended a few times by good friends of mine, and to be honest, I wish I went sooner! The first time I went was for breakfast, which was absolutely the best breakfast i've had at any restaurant to date. I had the french toast with fresh fruit (server told me the bread is homemade fresh weekly and I could tell!) and my husband had the salmon egg benedict which was equally fantastic. Since visiting for breakfast, I've been a handful of times, for lunch and dinner. Enjoying the variety of pizzas, daily specials and on tap beer. There's a new soup daily (also homemade) and i've become especially attached to the calzone specials. The service is friendly and the environment is just right. The hockey games brings in a crowd and so does chilly weekend mornings. Overall this place is by far my favorite restaurant in Ottawa. Read more

This place is a nice place to have a quick meal and be satisfied with it. I've been to this place many times and I must say that it hasn't disappointed me yet. The portions are huge which would definitely make you full once you walk out that door. It's also an inexpensive place to hang out and eat with friends on a late night or cold day. The broth is really good, but it's usually a hit or miss. Sometimes it would have too much MSG but sometimes it would be a nice way to finish your noodles. Read more

Soup was hot and although some dishes could have been a bit hotter, everything was delicious. Service was efficient. The restaurant is clean. Parking was a bit crammed. I love this place. Best clubs in Ottawa. The atmosphere is a bit stale (sort of a dark old sports bar type of feel), and their prices are a bit on the high side, but their food is so darn good. My coworker and I split a Club platter (with extra garlic dressing) 2-3 times / month. Owners are very friendly! I was no a fan of their pizza, but that's just my personal taste. Read more

Of course, it was the eleventh hour when I called and tried to make an evening reservation on Valentine’s Day. And, of course, like everyone else they were completely booked but they did call me back and I was so happy that they could squeeze us in. We enjoyed the best meal we could have hoped for. The house red (forget the varietal) was so perfectly pared with the shrimp appetizer, Gamberi Di Amaretto. And the chardonnay was lovely with the escargots. Our entrees were equally delicious and in spite of the fact that it was a very busy evening for Napoli’s, the food arrived at our table fresh and hot and the service was perfect. Water glasses were always topped up and we were never left unattended for long. The servers were very friendly and approachable and it all made for a fantastic dining experience. We also didn’t feel over-crowded in this ‘full-to-capacity’ restaurant. Our table provided plenty of elbow room and the table conversation was easy to hear in spite of people. We were very comfortable and happy to be enjoying the wonderful atmosphere. We can’t wait to have dinner at Napoli’s again. Read more

After shopping a friend and I decided we were having a fish and chip craving so we decided to try the Bells Corners location for the first time. It was relatively busy on a Wednesday afternoon at 1p.m-a good sign. We had the haddock and chips-excellent -with crispy fries, good tiny coleslaw and yummy tartar sauce, lemon wedge. Fast and friendly service with an open style kitchen-you can see what they are doing in there. Everything coming from the kitchen looked good and no fishy smell when you go in like some places. With only the knowlege that it was a "special date" , the professional staff gave us a very memorable experience. We shared a pot sticker appetiser loaded with fresh flavour and perfectly embellished with truffle oil and shitake mushrooms. As a treat Eric the sommelier brought a wonderful glass of Italian Brut. Eric suggested a perfect "bridging wine" for our mains (tuna and bison). I went there with a friend/co-worker expecting a little more elegance in terms of ambiance. I was greeted at the host/hostess stand and seated immediatly by the window- I didn't even have to ask. Our server seemed a little anoyed or inconvinienced however was helpful when asked. The food was great not amazing but than again I have been told I am a little choosy. None the less we received our bill before we were asked for dessert which we decided not to have - maybe that was a good idea because we were both full. Know this isn't really in my nature; but with the food I had this place obviously has potential. My reccomendation is to step it up with the service add some more interesting decor and man this could really be a great restaurant for us business folk in the area to go to. Read more
